Roulette VARIATIONS at Bodog
If you thought there was only one way to play online roulette, think again. We have six roulette games in our casino, and each has its own spin on the classic table game. We have two versions of American Roulette (Classic American Roulette and a modern one), two versions of European Roulette (Classic European Roulette and a modern one), plus the newly-added Dragon Roulette and Double Dragon Roulette. We’ll explain how each game works in this roulette guide, so you can figure out the best version for you.
Prefer the feel of being in a physical casino? Our live roulette games will be just the ticket for you.
Once you know the roulette rules, it’s time to take a game for a test ride. All of our roulette games can be played risk-free through Practice Play. When you want to switch to real money roulette, just load some funds into your Bodog account and launch a Real Play session.
Classic American Roulette and American Roulette
Anyone looking to play roulette the American way has two options in our casino: Classic American Roulette and American Roulette. The Classic version replicates the live casino experience in virtual form. Launch a session and you’ll see a betting board on a felt table, complete with a spinning roulette wheel.
To play a round, place your chip(s) on the betting board. The minimum bet is $1 a round, and the maximum is $500 a round. When you’re ready for action, hit the “Spin” button to trigger the white ball to launch around the spinning wheel.
American Roulette is newer than Classic and ideal for smartphones and tablets. It has a more streamlined and simplistic style, making it easy to navigate on smaller screens. To play, select the chips you want to bet with; there are $1, $5, $25, $100 and $500 denominations at the base of the screen. Once again, the minimum bet is $1 and the maximum is $500. When you hit “Spin,” the ball is launched around the wheel until it settles into a winning number’s pocket. Winning roulette bets are paid after each round.
American Roulette payouts are 1:1 for Red/Black, Odd/Even, 1 to 18, and 19 to 36. Payouts are 2:1 for 1 to 12, 13 to 24, and 25 to 36. Payouts are 5:1 for a six-number combo, 6:1 for the 0, 00, 1, 2, 3 combo, 11:1 for a three-number combo, 17:1 for a two-number combo, and 35:1 for a single number.
Classic European Roulette and European roulette
European Roulette has the same two options as its American counterpart. You can play Classic European Roulette or the newer version. Classic European Roulette takes place on a felt-topped table that displays the betting board, including the oval track with the French Call bets. The wheel is on the table and is perpetually in motion.
Bets range from $1 to $500 per spin; simply select the chips, which come in $1, $5, $25 and $100 denominations, and drop them on the numbers you want. When you’re’ ready, hit the “Spin” button to digitally launch the roulette ball around the spinning wheel. The number it lands on is the winner and will be displayed in the upper-right corner on a history chart.
If you want any of the Call bets, simply drop your chip(s) on the Voisins du Zero, Orphans and Tiers du Cylindre sections of the racetrack; the corresponding numbers are covered automatically.
The newer version of European Roulette has a more minimal background, allowing you to focus on the betting board and the wheel. The Call bets are tucked away so as not to crowd the display, but can be pulled up by selecting the “Racetrack” button. Bets range from $1 to $500; drop the chips you want on the numbers you want to stake. Then set the ball in motion by clicking “Spin.”
Dragon and Double Dragon Roulette
For a fun twist on the classic roulette game, try Dragon Roulette or Double Dragon Roulette. These are the same roulette games you’re used to, but with one exciting bonus feature: there’s a fire-breathing dragon.
Dragon Roulette is the European Roulette version of this innovative game. The board has just the zero and a Return to Player (RTP) of 97.30%. To play, put down a bet on the board (bets range from $1 to $500), and hit “Spin.” As the ball launches around the wheel, the dragon breathes between one and five fireballs onto the betting board. The fireballs’ multipliers range from 50X to 500X.
Double Dragon Roulette is the American Roulette version and has the double-zero in addition to the zero. Once again, the dragon breathes fireballs onto the betting layout and applies between one to five multipliers on randomly-selected numbers.
For both games, the minimum bet is $1 and the maximum bet is $500. Payouts range from 1:1 (Evens/Odds, Black/Red) to 29:1 (Straight)—not including multipliers. The inside bets pay the most but have a lower win probability, while the outside bets pay less but have higher odds of winning.
Live Roulette
Live Dealer casino games are very popular with our players who enjoy the charm of bricks-and-mortar casinos. You get real people running the games and instead of Random Number Generator technology dictating the results, it’s based on how the ball moves around the wheel. With the option of visiting the Live Dealer section of our online casino anytime, you don’t need to drive out to a neighborhood casino to get this experience.
In the Roulette section of our Live Dealer Casino, you’ll find all of the live roulette games that are currently in play. You’ll find live American Roulette with a live croupier spinning the wheel, and live European Roulette, also with a live croupier. The croupier’s name and photo are on the game cards, along with three table limits:
- $1 to $300
- $5 to $1,500
- $10 to $3,000
This is also where you’ll find the AutoRoulette wheels. Just like in a bricks-and-mortar casino, our Live Dealer Casino makes it possible to play both European Roulette and American Roulette with an automated wheel and a computerized voice as the croupier. This is different than the online version of roulette that doesn’t have a croupier voice and thus allows you to play at your own pace. Try them all and see which version you like the best.
