Baseball Betting Rules
Baseball games do not have to be played to completion for wagers to have action. Wagers will be settled according to the following rules:
1. Moneyline wagers are official after 5 innings of play (4.5 innings if the home team is winning). For official games that are called before 9 innings, moneyline wagers will be determined after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the score is determined at the time the game is called.
2. Runline wagers are official after 9 innings of play (8.5 innings if the home team is winning). If a game is called before 9 innings have been played, all undecided runline wagers are settled as 'No Action'. If a baseball game goes 9 or more innings and is NOT completed (e.g., suspended, rain, or darkness), wagers on the runline still have action and are settled according to rule 3 below.
3. If a game is suspended, abandoned, postponed or cancelled and won’t be continued at the original venue, all undecided markets are considered void.
a) In the case of an abandoned or suspended game, all undecided markets are considered void unless the match continues in the same original venue within 48 hours of the official start time. All fully decided markets will be settled.
b) In the case of a postponed or cancelled game, all markets are considered void during regular season play. In the case of a postponed game during the playoffs/post-season, all wagers will stand for the re-arranged fixture. Any match that does not start at the scheduled start time, but is played on the same day it is scheduled to do so will be deemed a delayed start and not a postponement.
4. In the case of a game that is suspended or canceled in extra innings, the score will be determined after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the score is determined at the time the game is called.
Player Propositions in the case of a suspended game will be settled according to the following rules:
- Batters – 9 innings or 8.5 innings (home team leading) must be played for wagers to have action, unless at any point before this mark, a player in the starting lineup is substituted and/or result has already been determined. Any undetermined results before this mark will be deemed void.
- Pitchers – 9 innings or 8.5 innings (home team leading) must be played for wagers to have action, unless at any point before this mark, a starting pitcher has completed his outing and has been substituted and/or result has already been determined. Any undetermined results before this mark will be deemed void
5. Game Totals Settlement - Total Wagers are official after 9 innings of play (8.5 innings if the home team is winning) or in instances where the total has already been met, see rule 4. a)
a) In instances where the total for a particular game has already been met, wagers will be settled accordingly, regardless if the game is deemed official.
Ex. If the total for the Yankees/Red Sox game is 6.5 and the teams combine to score 7 runs in the first inning – wagers on the over will be settled as a win and those on the under will be settled as a loss, regardless of whether the game is completed.
b) If the total is NOT met in a game that is cancelled or otherwise postponed before being considered official (9 innings or 8.5 if the home team is winning), all wagers will be settled ‘No Action’
Ex. If the total for the Yankees/Redsox game is 6.5 and the teams combine to score 4 runs through 5 innings but the game is postponed due to bad weather, all wagers will be settled as ‘No Action’
Extra Innings - If a baseball game goes 9 or more innings and is NOT completed (e.g., suspended, rain, or darkness), wagers on the total still have action and are settled according to rule 3 above.
6. For the 5 Inning Moneyline and Run Line, wagers are official after 5 complete Innings or 4½ if the home team is winning. For the totals, the full 5 Innings must be completed for the bet to have action unless the 5 innings total for the game has already been met, in which case wagers will be settled accordingly, regardless if the game is deemed official.
7. Wagers on suspended or abandoned games on line segments that are not official as per rules 1, 2, 3, 4 and 9 listed in this section will carry over if the game is resume within 48 hours of the official start time at the original venue.
8. Series Prices - Wager is on first three games of the Series. First two games must be played on scheduled date.
- If either are Postponed, Suspended or no winner is determined wager is No Action (regardless of third game).
- If team wins first two scheduled games of series and third isn't played, winner of first two games is winning wager.
9. US Baseball & Softball Mercy Rule - In the event of a Mercy Rule (one team has an unassailable lead) being called, Moneyline wagers will have action but Total/Runline wagers will be no action unless the result has already been determined.”
10. Total & Runline wagers for 7 innings games – For games originally scheduled to only play 7 innings, such as College Double Headers, Runline wagers are official after 7 innings of play (6.5 innings if the home team is winning). If a game is called before 7 innings have been played, runline wagers are settled as 'No Action'. Total Wagers are official after 7 innings of play (6.5 innings if the home team is winning) or in instances where the total has already been determined.”
